The CLAS Cares fund was created to support students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences who are experiencing obstacles due to unexpected hardships or expenses. This fund can support broad student needs, including helping to continue experiential learning or co-curricular activities during times of uncertainty. There is no deadline for this fund. Applications are received and evaluated on a rolling, weekly basis. Please note that CLAS Cares funds may only be disbursed during academic semesters in which you are registered for coursework.
Applying for the Award
Please submit the following. In writing your submission, please note: 1) You must address specifically the unexpected nature of the hardship. 2) Your request cannot be considered without documentation.
- A completed online application.
- An essay describing with as much detail as possible the unexpected hardships or expenses you are currently experiencing, how they are negatively impacting your ability to be successful as a college student, and specifically how support from the CLAS Cares fund will help you engage more effectively in your education and professional development (.doc, .docx, or .pdf to be uploaded during the online application process).
- Any documentation that supports your request (.doc, .docx, .jpg, .png, or .pdf to be uploaded during the online application process).
