The Department of Philosophy’s Annual Food and Talk Event: “A Philosophical Forum on Racial Justice”

Dr. Auxter and Dr. Pismenny discuss the roots and the current manifestations of systemic racism exacerbated by the pandemic, reflecting on the Black Lives Matter movement and offering ways we can combat racism in our own backyards. The event is open to all undergraduates and will take place over Zoom.

Auxter

Dr. Tom Auxter is Associate Professor of Philosophy and former president of the United Faculty of Florida. He works in applied ethics and will be teaching a course on Race and Philosophy in spring 2021.

Pismenny

Dr. Arina Pismenny is Lecturer in Philosophy. She earned her Ph.D. from City University of New York, The Graduate Center, and she works on moral psychology, ethics and philosophy of mind.
