Dreams in Orbit: Children’s Letters to Gagarin, Glenn, and Tereshkova
March 17, 2022 at 12:50 pm

How did children and youth in the early space age respond to the dawn of human space travel? How did the flights of early cosmonauts and astronauts impact young people’s senses of self and life possibilities? Join Dr. Roshanna P. Sylvester to explore similarities and differences in letters written by Soviet and American young people to pioneering spacefarers Yuri Gagarin, John Glenn, and Valentina Tereshkova. Lunch provided.
