Leave a Lasting Impact

Your planned gift can transform lives

AS THE OLDEST AND LARGEST COLLEGE at the University of Florida, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) embodies an incredible legacy. Our students receive a high quality, well-rounded education and graduate prepared for successful careers in healthcare, science and technology, business, public service and beyond.

To carry on this legacy for decades to come, we are asking our alumni and friends to participate in the 22 BY ’22 CHALLENGE, which aims to establish 22 new planned gifts for the college by the close of the university’s GO GREATER CAMPAIGN on JUNE 30, 2022.

How You Can Help

Consider making a PLANNED GIFT to CLAS through your will, IRA or estate plan to help provide future students with the transformative liberal arts and sciences education offered at the University of Florida.

The influence your legacy gift can have is limitless. From supporting scholarships and student programs to enabling the college to recruit top faculty and provide state-of-the-art technology, your planned gift will work through future students to ultimately benefit communities around the world.

Documenting your gift allows us to ensure that your contribution supports the area most important to you and inspires others to do the same.

How to Give

UF’s team of gift planning experts is available to provide more information and to work with your family and financial advisors to create a plan that best fits your situation and goals.

There are many ways you can leave a lasting impact on the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. A few ways to give include:

  • IRAS AND RETIREMENT PLAN ASSETS — Leave a legacy gift to CLAS by designating the University of Florida Foundation (UFF) as a beneficiary.
  • LIFE INCOME VEHICLES — Set up a gift annuity or trust and receive steady income during your life while making an impact on the UF.
  • WILL OR LIVING TRUST — Include a gift to CLAS in your will or living trust.
  • LIFE INSURANCE — Name the UFF as a revocable primary beneficiary of an existing life insurance policy.

The Power of Giving

Meet CINDY JARA ’20. A recent CLAS graduate, Cindy focused her studies at UF in criminology, women’s studies and public relations with a career goal of advocating for underrepresented communities.

Thanks to generous donors of both CLAS and the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars (MFOS) Program — which provides financial support for first-generation, low-income undergraduate students — Cindy thrived at UF. During her four years, she gave back as a peer mentor for other MFOS students, served as a peer leader for First Year Florida and interned in Washington, D.C. at the Children’s Defense Fund.

Shortly after graduating, Cindy started a new role as the digital communications associate for Reach Higher, an initiative aimed at inspiring first-generation students across the nation to pursue education beyond high school.

Your planned gift can empower students like Cindy to develop their own paths and use the skills that a CLAS education provides to impact our world.
